Lake Okeechobee Post Hurricane Fishing Report

20160905_081847 (360x640).jpgI just wanted to do a report and let everyone know that Lake Okeechobee came through the storm just fine. We really got very lucky and even the rainfall was minimal. The lake level is 16.01 and the water color is good. Fishing is great right now and with the water temperatures starting to cool, it's just going to get better. Both the north and south ends are fishing good. I have been catching fish on Senkos and swimming worms. As always, pitching is always going to be a factor. Even with all the wind, the outside grass lines are still in good shape. The inside is clear in most places and the fish are starting to move back. Top water should also start soon. Of course, live bait is always good! The Clewiston lock is closed and will remain that way until the water drops back down below 15.50 so you do have to lock if you are using the Clewiston ramp. Don't miss out...come fish with me on the best big bass lake in the country...Lake Okeechobee.
