Late July on Lake Okeechobee
Hot, hot, hot… man is it hot. The artificial bite remains just ok, it did take 25 pounds to win the Bass Busters tournament Saturday. Some schooling action in the morning with topwater lipless crankbaits working the best. Most of this is taking place on the offshore reefs. With the lake being so high, 15.74 as I do this report, this is the highest I have seen it in July. I think a lot of fish have come back in to the outside grass lines. Flippin and texas- rigged Senkos and worms have been best on the outside. The live bait bite has been really good and still a lot of big fish being caught.
