Big Bass Coming In On Lake Okeechobee
Posted by tom on December 13, 2013
Okay, fishing is finally getting good on Lake Okeechobee. Here’s what has gone on this summer, it started raining in June and did not stop until August. It raised the lake level 2 feet. The good thing that happened is the high water killed a lot of grass and opened up a lot of water. The result is going to make a great winter on the lake. Some big fish are already in the grass flats and I think the December moon will bring the first big females into spawn. Lately I have been catching most of the fish on Senkos and Yamamoto Dshads. The shiner bite has been very good with many big fish. Make your reservations now. I am booking up fast. Come fish the best big bass lake in the country…Lake Okeechobee.
Early October Fishing on Lake Okeechobee

Fishing on Lake Okeechobee has been somewhat slow but there have been some good days. The shiner bite remains pretty good with some big fish. The lure bite has been day to day depending on the wind, the one thing you don’t want to have on this lake is no wind, fishing will be no good. Fishing has been better north in the past 2 weeks, flipping the hydrilla has been best. You will want to use the big stuff for this... flippin’ stick like the 7.6 Lew's and a punch bait like the Yamamoto PsychoDad in black and blue. East wall and west wall have been ok casting a Texas rig worm. The water level is still very high 1575 as of this report 2 to3 feet higher than normal and it has the fish scattered all over the place. The good news is the water temps are coming down and that means it want be long before fishing will be great.
