February Big Bass Bites
Posted by tom on February 27, 2013
The past week was the full moon and finally the big fish are making a move to spawn. My clients caught big fish all week this week. Live bait has been best but the artificial bite has been good also. 5 and 6'' senkos have been the best lure of choice. The frog bite is also coming on with the swimming frogs working best. Lake Okeechobee water temps have been in the mid to high 60s and the water level is 14.40. I would like to see it at 13.50. Lake Okeechobee is in the best shape I have ever seen it in years. Call and book now for late March and April, they are some the best months to fish Lake Okeechobee. Remember you can contact me directly or call Roland Martin's Marina. You can call them and book your lodging reservations at the same time, just be sure to request me as your guide.
Big Bass Are Coming In On Lake Okeechobee

I had a rare day off this week and got on Lake Okeechobee with my awesome wife Peggy. We had a great day, caught a lot of fish including this 10lb 3oz bass, the biggest fish I have caught in 20yrs. She bit a watermelonred 5 inch Senko, I think a Senko is the best bait you can throw on Lake Okeechobee year round for numbers and size. The big fish are finally coming in to spawn, This means the bass fishing is about to be as good as it gets. Water temps are around the low to mid 70s. The lake level is just below 15. Going to be a great winter so come and let's go fishing on the best lake in the country, Call me at 678-296-5879 and book a trip. All my trips go out of Roland Martin's Marina, the best marina on the lake. Thanks! Tom
Bass Fishing on Lake Okeechobee in early January

Bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee is about to explode, Bass are finally trying to spawn. We caught 40 today on live bait with two 8 plus lb fish. Fish are starting to get where they should have been a month ago. Right now just look for the beds and fish in that area, you will catch fish. My favorite bait is a watermelon red senko. Get in the grass flats and look for the holes and cast the senko in the holes and let it sink. Be patient and let it sit there, they will find it. The top water swimbait bite is not on yet, The flipping bite is off and on but i look for it to get good very soon. This is going to be a great season on Lake Okeechobee. Come fish the best lake in the country...Lake Okeechobee. Give me a call or an email or call Roland Martin's Marina to book your trip and just ask for me as your guide.
